Staff Commissions

Car wash staff commission, worked out fairly on every wash

Your washers work hard, and they want to be paid for every car they touch. You want to pay for the work that was really done. CarwashManage records who washed each car and works out their commission automatically, so payday is a short conversation instead of an argument.

Commission disputes cost you staff, time and trust

In many car washes, commission is counted from a book or from memory. One washer says he did twelve cars, the book shows nine, and the supervisor is not sure. Two people worked on the same SUV and both claim it. By Friday, everyone is unhappy, and good washers start looking at the wash down the road.

Owners feel it from the other side. You suspect some washes are being added after the fact, or that cars are washed 'off the book' and the money shared out. Without a record made at the time of the wash, it is your word against theirs, and that is not a good way to run a team.

What you get

  • Commission set per service

Decide what each service pays: a percentage of the price or a fixed amount. A full wash, an engine wash and a buff can each have their own rate.

  • Linked to the washer at check-in

The washer is assigned when the car is checked in. The commission follows the job, so there is no counting at the end of the week.

  • Reports staff can see and check

Pull a commission report for any day, week or month showing every wash a person did and what they earned. When numbers are open, arguments stop.

  • Payouts recorded properly

Record when you pay commission and how much. You always know what has been paid and what is still owed to each person.

  • Spot your strongest washers

Staff performance reports show who handles the most cars and which services they do best. Use it to reward good work and plan shifts.

  • Less room for off-book washes

If a wash is not checked in, nobody earns commission on it. That gives your team a reason to record every car.

How it works

  1. Step 1: Set your commission rules

For each service, enter a percentage or fixed amount per wash. You can change these whenever your rates change.

  2. Step 2: Assign washers as cars arrive

At check-in, choose who will wash the car. The job and its commission now belong to that person.

  3. Step 3: Let the system add it up

Every completed wash adds to that washer's total automatically. Nobody has to keep a tally on paper.

  4. Step 4: Review and pay out

Open the commission report on payday, check it with your supervisor, pay your team and record the payout.

Fair pay for washers, clear numbers for owners

Commission is the most common way car washes in Kenya pay washers, and it makes sense: busy days pay more, quiet days cost you less. The trouble has always been the counting. When the count is done by the system at the moment of the wash, both sides can trust it.

Some washes pay a fixed amount per car, others pay a share of the price, and many mix both depending on the service. Detailing studios may pay a bigger cut on a full interior job. CarwashManage lets you set the rule per service, so you can keep the way you already pay and simply stop doing the maths by hand.

If you run more than one branch, each branch's commission reports are kept separately, and you can still see the totals together. Staff can be given limited access so a supervisor sees their team's numbers without seeing your full accounts.

Staff Commissions: questions

Can I pay a percentage on some services and a fixed amount on others?

Yes. Each service has its own commission setting. You might pay a fixed KES amount for a basic body wash and a percentage on a full detail. The system applies the right rule to each wash.

What happens if I move a car to a different washer?

You can change the assigned washer on the job before it is finished. The commission then goes to the person who actually did the work, and the report reflects the change.

Can washers see their own commission?

You decide. With roles and permissions, you can give staff or supervisors access to the information they need, while keeping revenue and expenses visible only to you and your managers.

Does it handle salary or casual pay too?

The commission feature is built for per-wash pay. Salaries, staff lunch or casual day rates can be recorded as expenses, so they still show up in your profit view.
